Pricing

Pay per project. Not per month.

One manuscript. One project license. No subscription. Choose the workflow you need — Insight, Editor, or Studio — and use AI credits only when you run analysis, editing, proofreading, or translation. Take a week or take a year. Your project stays open.

Prices are shown in $. Your final billing currency (EUR or USD) is set by your billing country at checkout.

Project license — one-time

Pick the tier that matches the work — Insight, Editor, or Studio. The license unlocks the workflow for that project and never expires.

  • Take a week or take a year — no recurring charges
  • Unlimited manuscript revisions inside the project
  • Upgrade to a higher tier later, paying only the difference

AI credits — pay only for use

Credits are spent only when you actually run an analysis, edit, or translation. Buy a pack when you need it.

  • You only pay for the AI work you actually trigger
  • Credits stay valid for 24 months
  • Bigger packs and the Business plan reduce your effective rate
Example: a novella of around 50,000 words typically uses about 15 credits for analysis, two editing rounds, and one proofreading pass. With the Editor license, that is about $39 for the project license plus around $16 in AI usage. See the full cost breakdown

Pick a tier

A one-time project license unlocks the workflow. No subscription.

Revise the manuscript as often as you need — first draft to final proof.

AI work is paid for separately, from prepaid credits.

Credits pay for the AI work itself: analysis, editing, proofreading, or translation. You only spend credits when you actively run a task.

Reviewing suggestions, editing manually, accepting or rejecting changes, and exporting your manuscript do not consume credits.

For publishers & editorial teams

Publishing more than one book? Add a Business account

Keep the same pay-per-project pricing on every manuscript — and wrap your imprints, team, and billing into one organisation, with a monthly pool of credits and a lower effective rate on everything you run.

Business
$59 / month

Sits on top of the per-project licences and credits — the account layer for teams working on several manuscripts at once.

  • 50 credits every month — roughly the value of the subscription itself
  • +12% bonus credits on every additional top-up
  • Cancel anytime — no per-seat fee, no minimum term
What a Business account adds
Unlimited imprints

Group your books under as many imprints as you publish. Each imprint keeps its own readership profile and house style guide, applied automatically to every manuscript inside it.

Your team, with roles

Invite editors, assistants, and managers into one workspace. Granular roles decide who can run AI work, manage members, or see billing — so the right people have the right access.

One shared credit wallet

Monthly credits and every top-up land in a single pool shared across all imprints and projects. Control who can view the balance and who can buy credits.

Centralised billing & compliance

One organisation, one invoice. VAT handling, automatic top-up when the balance runs low, and a Data Processing Agreement for your legal team.

Just working on your own manuscript? You do not need this — the per-project tiers above already cover a single book end to end.

When your draft has promise, but you are not sure what to fix first

Many manuscripts do not need a verdict. They need a clear revision path.

EditBook.ai helps you understand what is already working, what is holding the book back, and which changes would make the manuscript stronger before you submit it to agents, publishers, editors, or readers. You receive a structured manuscript report, a practical editing plan, and revision suggestions you can review at your own pace.

Careful editing, not just AI comments

Edit suggestions arrive as Word-style track changes with comments, so you stay in control of every sentence. The proofreading pass goes beyond grammar and spelling. It looks for duplicate sentences, inconsistent character names, tense shifts, repeated words, mismatched punctuation, and the small continuity slips that tired readers often miss.

A price that fits one manuscript

Most authors revise one manuscript at a time. A monthly subscription does not fit that reality. With EditBook.ai, you pay for the project you are working on. The project license unlocks the workflow for that manuscript: analysis, editing, re-editing, proofreading, and export. AI credits are used only when you choose to run an AI task. No subscription. No pressure to rush. No paying for months you do not use.

A clearer place to start

Each report includes positioning for the book and a hand-vetted starter list of imprints and submission resources to research. When your category sits outside our current coverage, we say so plainly.

When the queue is full, but quality still matters

EditBook.ai is built for the moments editors know well: too many manuscripts, limited reading time, and a few drafts with enough promise to deserve a closer look. It does not replace editorial judgment. It makes the mechanical stages easier to review, so editors can spend more time on the decisions that matter.

A faster route into the manuscript

The first-read report gives editors a structured way into the manuscript before committing to a full read. It highlights strengths, risks, reader appeal, pacing, character development, genre fit, market positioning, and estimated effort to completion. The report orients the judgment; it does not make the call.

Proofreading that catches more than typos

The proofreading pass checks for more than spelling and grammar. It flags duplicate sentences, copy-pasted paragraphs, inconsistent character names, dropped or doubled words, tense shifts, mismatched quotes and dashes, and other issues that often survive a standard grammar checker.

Better author feedback, faster

EditBook.ai can turn the analysis into a structured feedback letter. Authors receive clearer, more constructive feedback sooner, while editors spend less time turning private notes into polished responses.

Keep promising books in scope

Promising but heavy manuscripts often fall away because the first pass takes too much time. When analysis, mechanical review, proofreading, and feedback preparation become easier to check, niche, debut, and regional titles can stay in consideration longer.

Translation, priced per book

Literary translation takes weeks or months. Subscription pricing punishes the slow, careful work that good translation requires. EditBook.ai prices translation per book. The Studio license unlocks the translation workflow for one manuscript. AI credits are used only when you run translation or revision tasks.

Strategy set once, applied throughout

Choose the translation approach once: from literal and close-to-source to fluent, dynamic, or adaptive. That strategy is then applied across chapters, terms, revisions, and comments, without re-prompting the system each time.

Terminology that stays consistent

Names, ranks, idioms, recurring phrases, and interference risks are extracted from the source text and reused across the book. The goal is simple: chapter 18 should not drift away from chapter 2.

Side-by-side editing with notes attached

Source and target text stay aligned as you scroll. Translator comments, footnotes, and revision notes attach to the sentence they belong to — not to a separate chat thread you have to keep open.

Choose Studio for translation

Translation is available in the Studio tier. One Studio license covers the source analysis, translation strategy, side-by-side editor, translator notes, and unlimited revisions of the translated draft. AI credits cover only the AI work you actually trigger.

Business — for editorial teams with a steady queue

When manuscripts keep arriving, the Business plan gives the team a predictable pool of credits and a lower effective rate on additional work.

Monthly

Business

$59 / month

Best for publishers, agencies, and editorial teams using EditBook.ai on several manuscripts each month.

The subscription pays for itself — and then some. Each month you receive 50 credits — roughly equivalent in value to the subscription itself. On top of that, every additional credit pack you buy comes with a 12% bonus, so your effective price per credit drops as your volume grows.
What you get every month
  • 50 credits delivered monthly — covers the subscription cost
  • +12% bonus credits on every additional top-up

Estimate · standard run

What does a book cost — in credit usage?

Credits spent on the AI work itself (the project licence is separate). A standard run is analysis + two editing rounds + one proofreading pass with top-tier models. The numbers below combine that expected credit usage with the per-credit rate of the pack we recommend for each book size.

Pays for itself against a single external correction round. Compared to what a freelance proofread or copy-edit round typically costs on a book of this length, the credit spend above is a fraction of the bill — and the work lands in your editor within the hour rather than the next week or month.

Estimate, based on standard usage. Actual cost depends on the model you choose, manuscript length, and how many revisions you run. Translation work is a separate license tier (Studio) — see the tier cards above. Business-plan subscribers get an extra discount on every credit on top of pack savings.

Frequently Asked Questions

The project fee is a one-time charge that unlocks the workflow for that project: upload as many manuscript revisions as you need, from rough draft to final proof, and re-run analyses or edits as the text evolves. There is no per-revision charge and no expiry on the project itself. The AI tasks you trigger (analysis, editing, translation) consume prepaid credits — so you only pay for the work you actually run.

AI credits power the editing and analysis features. Each task (like generating an analysis or editing a chapter) uses credits based on the model choice, manuscript length and complexity. You can purchase credit packs as needed. Start with what you need and buy more anytime from your dashboard.
Any credits you buy remain valid for twenty-four months.

Yes! You can upgrade from Insight to Editor, or from Editor to Studio at any time. You only pay the difference between your current package and the new one.

We support .docx (Microsoft Word) and .txt files. For the best experience with track-changes editing, we recommend using .docx format.

Absolutely. Your manuscripts are encrypted at rest and in transit. We never share your work with third parties or use it to train AI models. Your intellectual property remains yours.

Yes — the Business subscription can be cancelled at any time from your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and credits already received remain valid for 24 months. There is no cancellation fee and no minimum term.

Credits remain valid for 24 months from the date of purchase, regardless of whether you have an active subscription. You can return to a paused account, top up if needed, and resume any of your existing projects.

The smallest project license (Insight) covers a single manuscript end-to-end, and you can absolutely upload just a single chapter or sample to evaluate the analysis quality. If you decide to continue with editing or translation later, you can upgrade the project — paying only the difference between tiers.

Project licenses are refundable within 14 days of purchase if no AI tasks (analysis, editing, translation) have been run against the project. After AI work has been performed the licence is non-refundable, but credits never expire prematurely and projects never lock you in to further spending.
